Founded in 1984, Free People has over 1.1 million Facebook fans and retail locations in the United States, Canada, and Japan. Free People is a bohemian lifestyle brand that caters specifically to women in their 20's in the areas of clothing, accessories, shoes, and intimates. Really, what more do we need? Here is a little interesting history on the clothing line Free People!
In the early 1970's, Richard Hayne opened a store in Philadelphia and named it Free People. It attracted much of the young adult population in the area and with its growing success, he decided to open a second location. He then changed the name from Free People to Urban Outfitters. I think we all have heard that name before! I don't have to tell you how much of a success we all know that brand has had. With the growing popularity of Urban Outfitters, Hayne and his wife, Meg, decided to create a wholesale line to be sold in department stores and small boutiques (!!!) across the country and named that line…-drum role please- Free People!
The rest is history. Well, that was actually the "history" part, but I digress. Can't wait to start transforming your closet into Boho-chic?! Here is a sneak peek at a few of the Free People items that we just got in at Flourish!
